With rapid shifts in the education technology space, Savvas recognized the need to overhaul its online experience to better serve diverse stakeholders, from district decision-makers to teachers and parents. The company engaged in a comprehensive redesign that not only elevated its digital presence but also created a scalable strategy to support growth and customer engagement. In parallel, Savvas’ recent acquisition of Rubicon Publishing required a rebrand and new site build that reflected Savvas’ identity while still catering directly to Rubicon’s established audience in educational publishing.

The Challenge
The existing Savvas site lacked the sophistication and usability expected from a leader in digital education. Educators and district leaders struggled with complex navigation and unclear pathways, making it difficult to explore curriculum solutions or request demos. Calls-to-action were inconsistent and not strategically placed to drive adoption and revenue.
On top of this, the Rubicon Publishing acquisition posed a brand and UX challenge. The site needed to integrate into the Savvas ecosystem for consistency while retaining a voice that resonated with Rubicon’s loyal audience base. Without careful execution, there was risk of brand dilution or audience confusion.
The Solution
The project began with deep research into Savvas’ market, audiences, and competitors. Through workshops and user journey mapping, we identified the distinct needs of teachers, parents, and administrators. From there, a new UX strategy was developed to simplify navigation and build dedicated pathways for each audience type, guiding them seamlessly to relevant content, products, and demos. The UI was reimagined with a modern, intuitive design that balanced accessibility with professionalism, ensuring that each interaction reinforced Savvas’ role as an education leader.
For Rubicon Publishing, a parallel brand refresh and new website were delivered. The rebrand carefully aligned visual identity and messaging with Savvas’ portfolio, while the new site emphasized Rubicon’s strengths in publishing and its established relationships in the education sector. Tailored UX and content strategy ensured Rubicon could retain its unique appeal while benefiting from its association with Savvas.
The Result
The redesigned Savvas site provided a significantly improved user experience, with audience-specific flows leading to higher engagement and stronger conversion opportunities. Educators could now navigate directly to relevant resources, administrators were guided through clear adoption pathways, and parents had access to intuitive content that built trust in Savvas’ solutions. The platform became a more effective growth engine, driving measurable increases in inquiries and product interactions. Meanwhile, Rubicon Publishing successfully relaunched with a refreshed identity and digital presence that felt both distinct and seamlessly connected to Savvas. This dual outcome strengthened the overall brand portfolio, positioning Savvas as a modern, forward-thinking leader while ensuring Rubicon maintained credibility with its established audience.
